Online writing site Wattpad has partnered with Toronto's International Festival of Authors (IFOA) to host an online festival.
The digital event will run from 1st October to 22nd October, before the 35th IFOA kicks off, with a different writer from the IFOA being featured on Wattpad each day. Featured authors will include Baileys Women's Prize-winner Eimear McBride, Cory Doctorow and Paulo Coehlo.
On the site, the IFOA profile will be used to promote the authors, as well as readings, discussions and interviews from the actual festival.
Wattpad's head of content, Ashleigh Gardner, said: "Every year the IFOA brings talented authors to Toronto. With the launch of this year’s Online Festival on Wattpad, these authors can reach and enjoy a direct connection with readers around the globe."
The IFOA's director, Geoffrey E Taylor added: "It's exciting to work with partners who are exploring new ways of reaching readers and audiences."
Wattpad will also host a live panel at the festival on 30th October, called Crowds, Comments and Community: Understanding writing in the digital age, with a panel including Anna Todd, Emily Gould and Emily Lindin.
