Watkins is set to publish a new series of books from YouTube "sensation" Cosmic Kids Yoga.
The internet “phenomenon” showcase their “incredibly” popular yoga routines for children on YouTube and are the number one kids’ yoga brand worldwide, with nearly 50,000 subscribers and average viewing figures for each month reaching 150,000 hits.
The show, which offers monthly 'yoga adventures', a 'posture of the week', a range of relaxation meditations and other fun activities, is aired to children across the world and is used in thousands of schools every day.
The colourful books feature "bright" illustrations and "simple" language and will be aimed at four to eight-year-olds. The books will combine storytelling with yoga routines, relaxation and affirmations. Each book will be themed around a specific area of wellbeing such as courage, confidence, calmness or determination. Issues such as bullying and healthy eating will also be addressed.
Jo Lal, publisher at Watkins, said: "Cosmic Kids is an exciting, fresh and innovative brand bringing the delights of yoga to a new generation – a perfect fit for Watkins as we grow our online reach and our conscious parenting list."
The first two Cosmic Kids Yoga Adventures, Norris the Baby Sea Horse Takes on the Bullies and Lulu the Lioness Learns to Roar, will be published in September 2016 with two more to follow in January 2017.
