Waterstone's reprices as Xmas hangs in balance

<p>Waterstone's is attempting to preserve margin in the final three weeks before Christmas by adjusting its prices on 300 books, moving some of those discounted in October and November back to their r.r.p.s.</p><p>The chain is now selling hardbacks, including John Humphrys' Beyond Words and Robert Harris' Imperium, without discount stickers. Other front-of-store giftbooks, discounted by rivals including Borders, such as Burlesque and the Art of the Teese and Banksy's Wall and Piece, are also full price in Waterstone's.</p><p>A Waterstone's spokeswoman said the chain did not need to discount...
