Waterstones will open the doors of the new Brent Cross branch this weekend, with a day of celebrations.
On Saturday 17th August, Waterstones will launch its new 3,000 sq ft bookshop at Brent Cross shopping centre.
The shop will offer a handpicked range of books, stationery and gifts and will host book launches, signings and events to give readers of all ages the opportunity to meet favourite authors. The large, well-stocked children’s department is an engaging and family friendly space where regular story times and activities will inspire children to develop a love of books, said Waterstones.
At midday, the popular character from the bestselling children’s picture book series The Dinosaur That Pooped will cut the ribbon to officially declare the North West London bookshop open.
Family friendly activities and story times will follow from 12pm to 2pm, and there will be balloons and children’s goody bags to keep younger customers entertained.
Waterstones Brent Cross bookshop manager Dafne Martino will lead a bookselling team of ten, with five new bookselling roles.
Martino said: “We are very excited to be opening our bookshop in Brent Cross. We will offer a welcoming and inviting space within the shopping centre where readers of all ages can relax, browse and feel at home. Our booksellers love to help with recommendations and give friendly and knowledgeable advice, whether customers are choosing books for themselves or as a treat for someone else. We are looking forward to becoming part of the local community and sharing our love for books.”
The launch comes as Waterstones prepares to open a new branch in Glasgow's Silverburn and reopen its shop at The Bentall Centre, Kingston Upon Thames in September, following an extensive refurbishment and the addition of a new café bar.
