Waterstones has revealed its Autumn Book Club titles.
The chain will launch the book club with Derek B Miller’s Norwegian by Night (Faber) on 5th September. The autumn list will also include two backlist titles—Augustus by John Williams (Vintage) and Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner (Penguin), which will both have new, more striking jackets for Waterstones customers. Augustus will also contain exclusive content. Chris White, fiction buyer, said: “Crossing to Safety is all about those quieter, internal dramas that take place in every human heart. The characters are so brilliantly drawn and the writing so adept that you’ll be swept all the way along to its extraordinary conclusion.”
The other Book Club titles are: The Middlesteins by Jami Attenburg (Serpent’s Tail); A Thousand Pardons by Jonathan Dee (Corsair); This is How You Lose Her by Junot Diaz (Faber); The World Until Yesterday by Jared Diamond (Allen Lane); A Hologram for the King by Dave Eggers (Hamish Hamilton); On the Map by Simon Garfield (Profile); Bad Pharma by Ben Goldacre (Fourth Estate); The Twelve Tribes of Hattie by Ayana Mathis (Hutchinson); and The Accidental Apprentice by Vikas Swarup (Simon & Schuster).
