Walliams tops chart again with a personal best

David Walliams has held onto the Official Top 50 number one spot for the second straight week, notching up his best-ever single week of sales.

Grandpa’s Great Escape (HarperCollins Children’s) sold 68,741 copies for £410,006 through Nielsen BookScan’s Total Consumer Market, a 34% volume increase on its first week of release, smashing his previous seven-day personal best of 52,750 units for Awful Auntie in October last year. Awful Auntie went on to become the bestselling Children’s title of 2014 (and second-biggest across all categories), with over half a million copies sold in three months...
