HarperCollins Children's Books has signed a multi-book deal with comedian and author David Walliams to include further fiction titles and a new expansion into colour books.
Publisher Ann-Janine Murtagh secured world rights for the "dynamic" deal, set to extend to 2016, with Paul Stevens at Independent Talent Group Ltd.
Murtagh said: "David Walliams' unique talent for storytelling with its hallmarks of wit and warmth has proved inspirational to children worldwide, and his titles are destined to be the classic children's books of the future. We have amazing new books lined up from David in the year ahead—and we are deeply delighted to be the home of his children's publishing here at HarperCollins."
Walliams' most recent novel, Gangsta Granny, has sold over a quarter of a million copies to date in hardback.
