Hachette’s George Walkley, Kobo’s Lindsey Mooney, and Ingram Content Group’s Ruth Jones will be the speakers at a BIC Breakfast being held as part of The Bookseller’s FutureBook Week.
The breakfast, being held in London, will take place on Tuesday 1st December, ahead of the FutureBook Conference on Friday 4th December.
Walkley, head of digital at Hachette, Mooney, Kobo’s content lead for UK and Ireland, and Jones, director of publisher business development at Ingram Content Group, will discuss the practical application of meaningful metadata.
The trio will explore how best to ensure an organisation’s metadata is as targeted and dynamic as possible to gain the best possible results for both internal and external use throughout the book industry, and will outline which fields good metadata should include, explain how to optimise metadata to facilitate discoverability, illustrate the ways in which good metadata will affect organisations, and discuss the negative consequences that bad metadata can have within the book supply chain.
Places for the breakfast are limited to 25 people, and tickets are allocated on a first-to-register basis.
The event will be hosted by Alaina-Marie Bassett, business manager at BIC. Click here to register. The seminar is sponsored by Virtusales Publishing Solutions.
The breakfast is a part of FutureBook Week, which includes Author Day on Monday 30th November, and the FutureBook Conference.
