Walker celebrates 30th with year-long campaign

<p>Walker Books is marking its 30th anniversary in 2010 with a year-long campaign to celebrate its picture book and fiction successes. A retail anniversary campaign will launch in January with a &quot;buy one get one free&quot; offer on Walker picture books.</p><p>Walker will celebrate individual anniversaries next year alongside its own. The 20th anniversary of the Maisy character by Lucy Cousins will be marked by initiatives throughout the year and an Alex Rider (Anthony Horowitz) reissue programme begins in March to help mark a decade of the series. It is also the 10th anniversary of Judy Moody (Megan McDonald), which has been a global success for the Walker Group. </p><p>The campaigns will be supported by trade and consumer events. Walker&#39;s anniversary logo, featuring the original Helen Oxenbury Walker bear, will feature on all p.o.s., marketing and branded material.</p><p>The publisher will also partner with Readathon in a nationwide events programme featuring Walker writers and artists. Walker and Readathon will invite 30 schools and libraries around the country to share the anniversary celebrations with a Walker birthday party and author visit. <br /></p>
