Walker Productions, part of Walker Books, has teamed up with All 4 Games and Lupus Films to launch a children’s app based on the picture book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury.
The We’re Going on a Bear Hunt app is an interactive game that places children within the story. Players can ‘swish’ through the grass, ‘swosh’ through the river and ‘tiptoe’ into the cave. It is available to download from the Apple, Android and Amazon app stores and costs £2.99.
Julia Posen, executive v.p and commercial director of the group rights and development division at Walker Books, said: “The app is a fun way for fans to join in with the Bear Hunt adventure, and the beautiful graphics and high quality games capture the spirit of the film and the original picture book brilliantly.”
The app is being released ahead of the animated film, produced by Lupus Films and Walker Productions, which will air on Channel 4 on Christmas Eve at 7.30pm and repeated on Christmas day at 5.25pm.
The original We’re Going on a Bear Hunt was first published by Walker in 1989 and has since then achieved global sales of more than 9m copies, according to the publisher.
