W H Smith, the stationery and magazine retailer, has started selling 'pick 'n' mix' sweets in its stores in a bid to take up the slack left by the failure of Woolworths, reports the Telegraph.
Woolworths' pick 'n' mix sales were worth an estimated £200m-£300m a year, analysts believe. Although W H Smith already sells confectionary, its move into pick 'n' mix is a deliberate attempt to capitalise on the territory Woolworths occupied.
