Independent publisher Verso Books has promoted Sarah Shin to communications director.
Shin's new role will see her working on the publicity for Verso's lead titles, partnerships and brand strategy, and running the company's work experience scheme with Arts Emergency. She will also be commissioning "new voices" for the Verso blog.
Sales and marketing director Rowan Wilson said: “We’re delighted that Sarah’s portfolio is now expanding. She has done incredible work on our publicity since she joined us in 2009, with major publicity campaigns turning first-time authors into bestsellers and getting national media coverage for some of our more esoteric publications. As Verso grows (2014 saw our highest turnover ever and 2015 is set to break that record) we are committed to communicating with our readers in the best way through media and online spaces, and Sarah’s experience, energy and skills are vital for this."
Shin was previously senior publicist for Verso.
