Children’s publisher Usborne has signed an e-book distribution deal with ePubDirect.
Lisa Watts, director of digital development at Usborne, said the dealwill “free up” time, thanks to the consolidated service.
“We’re looking forward to streamlining our e-book delivery via ePubDirect, who have been brilliant in accommodating all the special requirements of our growing list of children’s illustrated e-books,” she said.
Roger Miah, sales director for ePubDirect, said the children’s e-book market is growing.
“Taking the phenomenon that is Hunger Games out of the figures and looking more towards the mid and lower end of the market, we see growth,” he said. Data from ePubDirect analytics show that fiction is 10 times more popular than non-fiction, but non-fiction sales are steadier, he added.
Based in Ireland, ePubDirect distributes e-books for several UK publishers, including RandomHouse, Profile Books, Icon Books and Osprey Group.
