Indie publisher UCLan Publishing has signed a UK and export sales and distribution deal with Bounce.
Bounce Sales and Marketing, which represents a range of children's indies, will handle student-run UCLan's titles from January 2020 onwards.
UCLan publisher Hazel Holmes said: "We're really looking forward to having the team at Bounce support us by increasing our customer reach for our quickly growing list."
The indie takes a small backlist and an array of new projects from established authors Justin Somper, A.J. Hartley, Dan Walker, Danny Weston, Eve Ainsworth and Chris Packham into the deal. More recently they’ve acquired YA fiction from debut authors and bloggers Amy McCaw (Marjaq Scripts) and Christopher Moore, as well as middle grade fantasy fiction from Tamsin Harris (Bell Lomax Moreton). They’re also venturing into their first picture book list with Jonathan Emmett and Dr Adam Smith with The Plesiosaur’s Neck.
UCLan Publishing launched last year publishing commercial and non-fiction books by both debut writers and will-known authors and illustrators for children from aged seven upwards. The indie, based at the University of Central Lancaster, also runs an MA course in publishing and is a student-run, not-for-profit business.
This week UCLan welcomes its new BA and MA student cohorts who will get hands on practical experience on the various roles within publishing.
