TV focus for Borders website

Borders will feature over 100 author interviews on its revamped website when it goes live in the spring, along with news on the latest books and the opportunity for readers to upload videos of themselves reviewing books. The website content will also appear in a daily programme broadcast on the Simply TV satellite channel, which will be hosted by Nina Sebastiane, a former host of ITV’s "Loose Women", and ex-VH1 presenter Samantha Norman.

The content is being produced in collaboration with Simply Media, whose www.bookzone.tv will be rebranded as Borders Book Zone. Borders' dedicated website is expected to relaunch by May at the latest.

Each week new content will be added to an archive of more than 100 interviews including Ian Rankin, Terry Pratchett, Michael Connelly, Martina Cole, Katie Fforde, Gary Rhodes and Jane Moore. The relevant interviews will appear each time a user searches for a book.

"The move into video content will clearly differentiate www.borders.co.uk from any other book retailer and make it a destination site for book lovers, as well as offering a new marketing tool to publishers," said David Kohn, commercial director at Borders. "We are delighted to be working with Simply Media, as they have the experience and knowledge to create something that will stand Borders apart from all other book retailers."
