Tuskar Rock to publish Kraus' feminist novel

Tuskar Rock Press will publish I Love Dick, the autobiographical-novel by American writer Chris Kraus. The book was originally published in 1997 by Kraus’s own Semiotext(e) Press. This is the first time it will be available as a UK edition.

I Love Dick merges fiction and memoir to tell the story of Kraus, an “unsuccessful” artist, who spends an evening with a “rogue academic” named Dick, with whom she falls in love, and enlists her husband in a “haunted pursuit” of him.

Kraus said: “I’m thrilled to see I Love Dick coming out this fall in the UK, especially with Tuskar Rock."

Tuskar Rock Press books are published by Serpent’s Tail, part of Profile Books.

Hannah Westland, publisher at Serpent’s Tail, said:  “I’ve long been a fan of Chris Kraus’s I Love Dick so was thrilled when Tuskar Rock proposed a new publication. Widely considered to be the most important feminist novel of the past two decades and with fans as diverse as Lena Dunham, Zoe Pilger, Sheila Heti and Alexa Chung, it is as essential, relevant, fierce and funny as ever and we can’t wait to bring it to a new generation of readers.”

Novelist Rick Moody called I Love Dick “the most explosive, revealing, lacerating and unusual memoirs ever committed to the page.”

I Love Dick will be published by Tuskar Rock on 5th November in hardback priced at £12.99
