Trapeze's Emma Smith moves to Ebury

Trapeze commissioning editor Emma Smith is joining Ebury Press as editorial director, covering maternity leave for Sara Cywinski. She takes up her new role in October, reporting to deputy publisher Andrew Goodfellow.

Smith, who has been at Orion since 2013, was a founding member of Trapeze and acquired projects such as Part-Time Working Mummy, It’s All Absolutely Fine by Rubyetc, Wild Embers and Fierce Fairytales by Nikita Gill, Overshare by LGBT YouTubers Rose and Rosie, Safe by Mostly Lit’s Derek Owusu and Grime Kids by DJ Target. She was also The Bookseller’s Shooting Star of 2016.

Smith said: "I’ve had a fantastic time at Orion, especially with the brilliant Trapeze team, and I will miss everyone enormously. However, I’ve long admired the work of Ebury and their stellar list, so I’m thrilled to be taking this exciting opportunity."
