Transworld has triumphed in a six-way auction for DIY On A Budget by Toni Trevillion, who found fame after setting up a community Facebook group to share money-saving home improvement tips.
Non-fiction publisher Susanna Wadeson acquired world rights from Clare Hulton at the Clare Hulton Literary Agency. The book will be published in April 2022 and will be "packed with all all the tools, tips and inspiration needed to re-decorate rooms and homes of all sizes, no matter how big or small the budget".
Trevillion first launched her Facebook page in 2014, and now has over two million followers including Stacey Solomon and Pinch of Nom.
Wadeson said: "Visit the DIY On A Budget Facebook page and you fall down a rabbit hole in which I can be happy for hours – so many brilliant ideas to inspire you, so many clever hacks. For all those of us, stuck in our homes for too long staring walls and wishing they were different, Toni’s book is the perfect answer. It is so exciting to be working with her and her team and joining the amazing DIY on a Budget community."
Trevillion added: "When I started the DIY On A Budget group, I had one simple goal — to prove that anyone can have a beautiful home on a budget. This book is all about empowerment and community, featuring not only my story and experiences, but tips and advice from millions of amazing On A Budget members. Publishing this book, especially with the talented team at Transworld, is a dream come true for me, my family and everyone who has been a part of the On A Budget journey."
