Transworld buys thriller series

<p>In what was described as a heated auction, Selina Walker at Transworld has acquired world rights in a high-concept conspiracy thriller series by screen-writer David Young. </p><p>Set in the US, Young&#39;s first novel, <em>Lockdown</em>, features Sean Lock who uncovers a terrifying conspiracy to test deadly iseases and their vaccines on American political prisoners. &quot;I read it in ne gulp,&quot; said Walker, who described <em>Lockdown</em> as &quot;Jack Reacher meets &#39;24&rsquo;&mdash;simply one of the most exciting, page-turning and commercial d&eacute;buts that I&rsquo;ve read in a long time, and one that has &lsquo;film&rsquo; written all over it.&quot;</p><p>Walker acquired three novels (all of which will be branded with the &quot;Lock&quot; title) from Luigi Bonomi for an undisclosed sum. <br /></p>
