Transworld is to publish music memoir The Story of the Streets by Mike Skinner, detailing the rise of the Birmingham-born rapper and his band.
Editorial director Simon Thorogood bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Jon Elek at A P Watt.
He said: "Mike Skinner's originality, integrity and lyrical gift have marked him out as one of the most significant voices in British music. Those same talents will make this chronicle of the band's remarkable decade-long journey a music memoir unlike anything you have read before."
The Streets is Skinner's stagename, under which he has released albums including A Grand Don't Come for Free, The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living and Everything is Borrowed.
Transworld will publish in spring 2012, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the band.
