Transworld acquires novels from Heroes creator
<p>Transworld has acquired a trilogy of novels by the creator of TV series "Heroes". Tim Kring, the creator of the US sci fi show, will write the novels with Dale Peck.</p><p>Transworld editorial director Simon Taylor and commissioning editor Simon Thorogood jointly acquired the trilogy from Linda Kaplan at Kring’s US publisher Crown.</p><p>Thorogood described the series as "having all the elements that make 'Heroes' such a success— intelligent plotting, great characterisation and must-know-what-happens suspense." Taylor added that "the finished novel more than delivers on the tantalising promise of this project which we first heard about a couple of years ago."</p><p>The first in the series, <em>Shift</em>, will be published by Bantam Press in January 2011 as a £12.99 hardback. The first novel introduces Chandler Forrestal, a man who is unwittingly dragged into a CIA mind-control experiment.</p>
