Erotic romance publisher Totally Bound is launching an imprint called What’s Her Secret?, designed to turn women who have previously experimented with erotica into lifelong fans of the genre.
The imprint will launch with a series of six e-book shorts from 29th November, with full-length novels following in 2014.
Totally Bound c.e.o. Claire Siemaszkiewicz said: “The scale of the untapped market for erotic romance is huge. We need to reach out to the mainstream market, which means great writing, credible storylines, believable characters, good-quality books. We’re here to pioneer erotic romance as a credible literary genre.”
The publisher created the imprint in response to market research which found that while erotic romance fiction had been hitting the headlines over the past 18 months, many of the books failed to recruit readers as long-term fans of the genre, with poorly written prose often cited as the reason.
The imprint launch will coincide with a “stylish” and “glamorous” rebranding for the publisher, including a website relaunch and a new logo. Totally Bound also plans to run a competition to find the UK’s “readers’ face” for the publisher.
