Top fiction editors quit HC and Penguin

Rachel Hore, HarperCollins editorial director for women's fiction, is to leave the company at the end of June. She is moving to Norwich with her husband, the writer D J Taylor, and three children, and will pursue a freelance career.</p><p>

The news coincided with the announcement from Penguin that Kate Jones, editorial director of Viking and Hamish Hamilton, also plans to leave in June.</p><p>
