Tolkien estate sues film producer

<p>The estate of author J R R Tolkien and HarperCollins sued the producer of the &quot;Lord of the Rings&quot; films, New Line Cinema, in a fight over profits from the trilogy, reports Reuters.&nbsp; </p><p>The trustees of the writer&#39;s British charity, and News Corp&#39;s HarperCollins cited a failure to pay a contractually agreed 7.5% of gross profit for the three films based on the Lord of the Rings novels.</p><p>The complaint seeks in excess of $150 million in compensatory damages. The suit was filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court.</p>
