Titan Books has signed a gothic romance series by Freda Warrington.
World rights were signed in the four-book vampire melodrama The Blood Wine Books, described by the publisher as "'True Blood' meets 'Downton Abbey'".
Titan will reissue the first three books of the series, first published in the 1990s and revised by the author, as paperbacks and e-books, with an unwritten fourth novel, The Dark Arts of Blood to follow in late 2014. The first novel, A Taste of Blood Wine, will be launched at sf convention Eastercon, with Warrington to take part.
Fiction editor Cath Trechman bought the rights via John Berlyne and John Parker at Zeno Agency. She said: “Freda has written a wonderful series, rich with gothic romance and drama. The Blood Wine Books are irresistible, and will appeal to fans of both Twilight and Anne Rice.”
