Tim Walker, owner of Walkers Bookshops in Stamford and Oakham, is the new president of the Booksellers Association.
He succeeds Patrick Neale, owner of Jaffé & Neale Bookshop and Café in Chipping Norton, who held the presidency for two years. Sam Husain, c.e.o. of Foyles and David Prescott, c.e.o. of Blackwell’s, remain as vice-chairmen of the BA Council.
Walker said: “UK booksellers are more professional, more adaptable and more in tune with their customers now than at any point during my 22 years selling books and we are also working more closely with publishers.”
