Bookouture has acquired three new psychological thrillers from K L Slater.
Bookouture first published Slater in November 2016. Since then she has sold over 800,000 copies and achieved four Kindle top five bestsellers, it said.
Lydia Vassar-Smith, associate publisher at Bookouture, acquired world English language rights from Clare Wallace at Darley Anderson.
Bookouture will be working with fellow Hachette divisions Little, Brown Book Group in the UK and Grand Central Publishing in the US to release the paperback editions of Slater’s novels. The first, Blink, will be published by Sphere on the 18th of October.
Vassar-Smith said: "Kim has set the gold standard in terms of writing engaging and page-turning psychological thrillers and her astonishingly high chart positions, sales figures and customer reviews are testament to this. We are thrilled to be working on new books with her and are confident of bringing her army of fans the dark domestic noir that they adore."
Slater said: "I’m incredibly excited to be continuing my journey with the Bookouture team and with my editor, Lydia Vassar-Smith. Our first sixteen months working together has been an amazing and life-changing experience for me. I am also beyond thrilled that Bookouture will now work with the excellent Sphere and Grand Central publishers to bring my titles to a whole new paperback audience."
Sphere publisher Catherine Burke said: "The whole team at Sphere are hugely excited to be publishing K L Slater into paperback. Bookouture has achieved incredible success in a very short period of time with Kim’s brilliant psychological thrillers, and we can’t wait to bring her completely engrossing storylines, shocking twists and entirely believable characters to even more readers."
