Thomas the Tank Engine now has a Haynes owners' workshop manual, more than 60 years since its creation.
Haynes published Thomas the Tank Engine Owners' Workshop Manual by Chris Oxlade yesterday (5th October) in hardback priced at £9.99. The new book will sit alongside The Pirate Manual and Spy Manual in Haynes' children's range.
The manual is in the same format as Haynes manuals for other products, but is aimed at the 3-7 age group. The book will include illustrations of Thomas and his friends along with facts on the engines. It will also show how a steam train is built and how the engines and railways work.
Haynes Publishing managing director John Haynes said: "When I was a child I was fascinated by Thomas The Tank Engine and his friends and always wanted to know how they worked. It's a bit late for me, but as a parent myself I'm sure this new manual will delight today's young children and parents alike. It is a sign of the everlasting appeal of Thomas."
Haynes manuals were first applied to car and motorcycle and were first published more than 50 years ago. The titles have now been extended to everything from washing machines to electric guitars.
