Amazon publishing imprint Thomas & Mercer has acquired three more novels by Mark Edwards.
Emilie Marneur, editorial director of Amazon, signed world rights to the three books with agent Sam Copeland of Rogers, Coleridge and White.
The first book, The Devil’s Work, is a psychological thriller about "colleagues from hell" which will be published in summer 2016.
The deal follows the success of Edwards’ Follow You Home, published by Thomas & Mercer in June 2015, which reached the top five in the Kindle chart in both the UK and US in its first month. Edwards’ earlier novel, The Magpies, released in September 2013, has sold 350,000 copies across print and digital, Edwards said.
The author said sales of all his titles across print and digital have recently reached the 1 million mark.
Copeland said: “Mark is a phenomenon. His sales are increasing year on year, and with this new deal, that upwards trajectory looks set to continue, especially as his fan base in the US is increasing rapidly.”
Edwards also co-writes a crime series with Louise Voss. The pair first achieved success together self-publishing on Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing platform, with Catch Your Death, a Kindle bestseller. The latest in the series, The Blissfully Dead, will be published by Thomas & Mercer on 29th September.
Edwards is also published by HarperCollins, for novels co-written with Louise Voss. HarperCollins bought four books from the duo, who had already had success on KDP, in 2011.
