Thirty-three jobs have gone at Random House as a result of the consultation process to reduce the publisher's workforce, the publisher announced this morning.
The redundancies include Transworld senior publishing director Francesca Liversidge, Bodley Head editorial director Dan Hind, James Gurbett at Secker, Rochelle Venables at Transworlf and Mary Vacher at Random House Children's Books. All staff involved have now left their posts.
In an email to staff this morning, Random House Group chairman and c.e.o. Gail Rebuck said the company had been through "a difficult few weeks" and said: "by facing the recessionary challenge directly and taking timely action we are securing our long-term future and strength."
The publisher last month announced plans to axe 5% of its UK workforce.
