Book wholesaler Bertrams has increased total revenue by 11.2% in its third quarter, boosted by the success of its online third party marketplace trading website Wordery.
The Norwich-based retailer reported that like-for-like sales in the 44 weeks to 6th July 2013 had increased by 2.0%, while total revenues had hiked by 11.2%.
Smiths News, Bertrams' parent company, said: "New additional revenue from the recently launched direct to consumer offer, Wordery, continue to grow, accounting for the majority of the positive total sales increase."
The Smiths News Group meanwhile saw its total revenues increase by 0.7% in the third quarter. The company said the group remained "on track to deliver strong growth in profit before tax for the year to 31st August 2013, in line with market consensus."
