Third-party sellers able to compete for Amazon's buy button from January 2021

Third-party sellers selling "new condition" books will be able to bid for Amazon's buy button in the UK from January 2021, the retail giant has confirmed. 

On the caveat that they are "new condition" books, the policy change enables titles sold by Amazon's third-party selling partners to be the featured offer to customers on print book listings.

UK trade bodies the Society of Authors and the Publishers Association have both expressed concerns regarding what it could mean for author earnings and the fight against the sale of illicit books on the website.
