The Friday Project will serialise a novel it is publishing next week in its entirety across 32 book blogs tomorrow.
All 32 chapters of Caroline Smailes' Like Bees to Honey will be serialised across sites, including those written by bloggers Lindsey Fallow, Ian Aspin, Matt Hill and the novelist Sarah Salway.
Each host will have a separate chapter with an animated browse inside widget allowing the user to flick through pages on each website. The chapters will only be available to read for one day, but will be linked from blog to blog. The book will be published on 28th May.
The Friday Project's editor Robin Harvie said: "In the twitter age of bite-size content, we wanted to give readers a one off chance to sample – absolutely free – a morsel or two, or 32, from Caroline’s new novel... It is a kind of iterary treasure hunt against the clock, where the prize is to read to be able to read the book in its entirety (if you are fast enough) a week before publication."
Artist Becky Adams has created 10 handmade slipcover for the book, which the publisher plans to auction in aid of a charity that helps victims of domestic abuse called One in Four.
