Tesco and supermarkets grab more market share

<p>Fiona Ramsay</p><p>Tesco's UK non-food sales, including books, increased by 12.6% for the 26 weeks ended 26th August, with non-food comprising more than 20% of Tesco's &#163;22.7bn worldwide sales.</p><p>The news came as BML confirmed supermarkets' overall growing market share in books this year, with the sector accounting for 8.3% of the book market by value, and 13.8% by volume, for the first 16 weeks of 2006.
