Tennant to read Shakespeare audiobook

<p>&quot;Doctor Who&quot; star and the RSC&rsquo;s most recent Hamlet David Tennant has lent his voice to Naxos Audiobooks&rsquo; new collection of Shakespearean sonnets.<br /><em><br />From Shakespeare&mdash;with Love: The Best of the Sonnets </em>is being published on 1st April as an &pound;8.99 audiobook to tie in with the 400th anniversary of the sonnets&rsquo; first full publication.<br /><br />Tennant reads eight sonnets at the beginning and end of the recording, including &quot;Shall I compare thee to a summer&rsquo;s day?&quot;.<br /><br />Director David Timson said: &quot;I assembled a group of actors whose approach to the sonnets is as varied as their ages and dialects . . . It was great that David Tennant had a break in his busy schedule to come into the studio to record. . . It is a joy that an actor who has made his name in the popular field of television is so willing and able to adapt his talents so skilfully for classical work.&quot;</p><p>Other actors reading the sonnets include actors Juliet Stevenson, Anton Lesser and Maxine Peake.</p>
