Templar Publishing has bought world English language rights to a "gritty yet glamorous tale of murder, romance and rock ‘n’ roll".
Helen Boyle, commissioning fiction editor, bought the rights to Drummer Girl by Bridget Tyler from Nancy Miles of the Miles Stott Agency. The book was created by Jeff Norton's creative agency Awesome and is about five London schoolgirls who are whisked to Los Angeles when their band wins a television talent context.
Boyle said: "We were swept away by the characters, relationships and portrayal of the underbelly of the music industry and, in our celeb-led, reality TV society, Drummer Girl hits all the right notes." The book will be published in spring 2013.
