Catherine Taylor, formerly publisher at The Folio Society, has been appointed deputy director of English PEN.
She takes up her new role on 14th April, reporting to director Jo Glanville.
The deputy director post focuses on corporate sponsorship, fundraising and membership, as well as giving senior management and strategic support for the director.
Glanville told The Bookseller: "We’re delighted to welcome Catherine Taylor to English PEN. Her depth of experience and knowledge of the literary and publishing world will be an immense asset at an exciting time for the charity."
Taylor commented: "I'm delighted to be joining such a vibrant, committed organisation as English PEN. Today the freedom to write, to read and to communicate without fear of prosecution or imprisonment is under more threat than ever before."
