The Society of Young Publishers (SYP) has opened volunteer applications for next year, spanning roles on its committees.
There are vacancies for almost all UK committees, apart from Scotland, which will open applications in the spring. The roles are aimed at those currently in the first 10 years of their publishing career, alongside publishing hopefuls keen to work in the industry. There is no age limit and no requirement for experience or specific publishing qualifications.
Tanu Shelar, UK chair of the society, said: "Volunteering at the SYP has been an incredible experience. I found a supportive community, developed relevant skills and a greater understanding of our industry. I encourage all hopefuls and those working in publishing to join the SYP committees of 2022."
Volunteers can expect to learn new skills, be part of regular networking events while making a difference to the industry.
Applications from candidates from Black, Indigenous and People of Color, LGBTQIA+, disabled, neurodivergent and underrepresented communities are particularly encouraged. Registration closes on 5th January 2022 at 10 a.m.
