Hodder & Stoughton is publishing a cookery book by the star of Channel 4 series "Willie's Wonky Chocolate Factory", which will be launched next March to coincide with further TV appearances.
Willie Harcourt-Cooze is following up his recent appearance in a four-part series "to educate" the nation "in the delights of 100% cacao chocolate". A Christmas special has also been planned before his main return in the spring.
Nicky Ross, cookery publisher at Hodder, described Harcourt-Cooze as "one of life's great enthusiasts".
The book, which is also part-memoir, traces the chocolatier's time working on a small farm in Venzuela where he and his wife Tanya "battled against natural disasters [and] political upheaval" in a bid to achieve his chocolate dream".
It will also contain more than 60 recipes from the TV programmes, including puddings such as Cloud Forest Chocolate Cake and more unusual-sounding savoury dishes such as Porcini and Chocolate Risotto and Venezuelan Hot Chocolate and Chicken Mole. The book, which carries several colour pictures including a reportage of the couple's time in Venezuela, will retail at £20.
Zelda Turner, editor at Hodder, said: "We're hugely excited to have Willie on the list. We see this as the start of a long and very enjoyable relationship—and not just because he makes the best chocolate in the world."
Hodder said Harcourt-Cooze would embark on "an unmissable publicity campaign on publication", which would include press and broadcast interviews, as well as festival events and nationwide signings.
