Summersdale has signed a four-book license deal with the Purple Ronnie brand.
The deal for worldwide rights, excluding North America, was done with rights management company Coolabi Group and Purple Ronnie.
Purple Ronnie relaunched in 2014 aimed at 15 to 30-year-olds. The new range currently includes greetings cards, wrap and party products and has its own YouTube channel.
Claire Plimmer, editorial director at Summersdale, said: “We’re so excited to be welcoming the iconic brand Purple Ronnie into our portfolio and to align our company with such a strong brand where the synergies between the two are clear. We’re looking forward to promoting Purple Ronnie’s fun, quirky and slightly irreverent character within this initial four book deal.”
Valerie Fry, director of licensing at Coolabi Group, said: ‘This refreshed creative direction for Purple Ronnie is already attracting a huge following in the digital space and we are thrilled to be taking the brand to new audiences at retail with a new range of books from Summersdale.”
The books will be launching in spring 2016.
