Summersdale launches lifestyle imprint Vie

Independent non-fiction publisher Summersdale is to launch a new lifestyle imprint this month.

Vie Books, which launches in Summersdale’s 25th year of publishing, will help “grow awareness and sales” of the company’s health and wellbeing titles, and will also include parenting and self-help books.

Launch titles include Oh Sugar: How to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth Naturally for a Happy, Healthy Lifestyle (paperback, £7.99) by Katherine Bassford, released earlier this month, and New Old-Fashioned Parenting (paperback, £10.99) by Liat Hughes Joshi, out on 12th February.

Alastair Williams, founder of Summersdale Publishers and Vie Books, said: “Part of our ongoing strategy is to look at creating distinctive imprints to give strength and clarity to existing parts of the list. Summersdale has had a passion for the wellbeing arena for some time, and the time felt right for us to give it the attention it deserves.”

Vie Books will be sold in the UK by Simon & Schuster and distributed by Littlehampton Book Services Ltd.

Summersdale was named the IPG Trade Publisher of the Year at the 2014 Independent Publishing Awards.
