Submissions and nominations for the London Book Fair’s new International Publishing Industry Excellence Awards 2014, in association with The UK Publishers Association, are now open.
The awards, which represent the UK’s recognition of international publishing industry excellence and have been designed to celebrate achievement across the whole book publishing industry, will consist of 15 categories. Nominations and submissions may come from anyone, either based in the UK, or overseas, and companies, organisations and individuals may submit themselves for the awards. LBF and The PA have selected an authority of UK judges with expertise in each category.
Ten award categories are open to international companies, organisations and individuals only. They include The Bookseller International Adult Trade Publisher Award, sponsored by The Bookseller magazine, as well as The British Council International Digital Publishing Entrepreneur of the Year Award, The Publishers Association Copyright Protection Award, The International Education Initiatives Award, and The International Transformation Award for best use of IP.
There are also five categories which organisations and individuals from the UK are also eligible to enter, namely The London Book Fair Lifetime Achievement Award, The Publishing for Digital Minds Innovation Award, The International Literary Agent Award, The Market Focus Achievement Award and the Korea Market Focus Award for Outstanding Contribution.
Entries for the awards need to be registered online via the LBF website by 22nd February 2014, where full details on the entry criteria for each award category can also be found.
The shortlist will be announced in March and the award winners will be presented at an invitation-only evening event on Tuesday 8th April in The Conference Centre, Earls Court, London.
