Orion has promoted Jane Sturrock to the role of editorial director, non-fiction. She will continue to report to Amanda Harris, publishing director, non-fiction.
Sturrock joined Orion in 2007 as a publicity assistant, and has since worked on and commissioned titles such as the Keith Lemon books, The Killing Handbook and The Rules. Her list for 2013 includes books from Olympic medallist and "Strictly Come Dancing" star Louis Smith, Myleene Klass and Plan B.
Sturrock said: "I'm delighted to be appointed editorial director at Orion non-fiction. I am lucky enough to work with a great list of authors, led this year by Keith Lemon, designed, sold and promoted by an outstanding team here . . .
Orion tends toward the more commercial end of the non-fiction spectrum and we look forward to attracting—and playing a part in establishing—more big names and giving them the full Orion experience."
