The shortlist features Dramatic Exchanges, edited by Daniel Rosenthal (Profile Books), Modern Playhouses by Alistair Fair (Oxford University Press), Peggy to her Playwrights, edited by Colin Chambers (Oberon Books), Staging British South Asian Culture by Jerri Daboo (Routledge), Twenty Theatres to See Before You Die by Amber Massie-Blomfield (Penned in the Margin) and Year of the Mad King: The Lear Diaries by Antony Sher (Nick Hern Books).

Chaired by Howard Loxton from the STR, the judging panel is made up of David Byrne, artistic director of London’s New Diorama Theatre, critic Daisy Bowie-Sell and Jim Davis, professor of theatre at the University of Warwick.

The winner will be announced at 11.30am on 11th June at a reception in the Prince of Wales Theatre, London.
