Foyles will mark the reopening of its newly-relocated Cabot Circus, Bristol branch with a free Star Wars themed party featuring a "squadron of stormtroopers" on Saturday (12th December) ahead of the new Star Wars film release.
The new 3,800 sq ft retail space will “raise the profile of Foyles within Cabot Circus” and feature a café concept, building on the success of the Foyles café at the Charing Cross store, a spokesperson said.
In September Foyles announced it would relocate to be better position within the Cabot Circus shopping centre after first opening there in 2011.
"The new look store will reflect Foyles' move towards an integrated experience for shoppers, with booksellers continuing to provide an exceptional and customer focused service,” a spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added: “A space where physical meets digital, the shop will incorporate a range of innovations first seen in Foyles’ Grand Central, Birmingham branch which opened in September this year. These include handheld tablets for booksellers, offering access to a range of millions of books, as well as digital signage throughout the store.”
This weekend's party, which takes place a week ahead of the release of the latest Stars Wars film – "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" - will also feature face painting and 'edibel goodies."
In the run-up to Christmas, the store is also set to host a range of festive activities with mulled cider and gingerbread from 6-8pm on Thursday (10th December) and a "special" visit from the Grinch next Tuesday (15th December) from 4-5pm.
The shop officially re-opened on Tuesday 8th December with a tombola to mark the occassion. The first 40 customers also received goody bags.
Foyles first opened in Cabot Circus, Bristol in March 2011.
