HarperCollins’ commercial imprint Avon Books has appointed Kate Stephenson to the role of commissioning editor.
Stephenson, currently editor on Harper Fiction’s crime and thriller list, is due to join the division in March and will have particular responsibility for growing Avon’s crime offering. She will report to editorial director, Helen Huthwaite.
Huthwaite said: “I am absolutely delighted that Kate is joining the Avon team. She has a track record that speaks for itself, having worked on numerous Sunday Times bestsellers, and proving her skills as a talented and insightful publisher with her work on the Killer Reads list. Following the phenomenal success of After Anna, there is no doubt that Kate possesses the commerciality that we prize at Avon, and I know she will ably step into her new role with us.”
Avon publishes commercial fiction including novelists C L Taylor, Paul Finch, Alexandra Burt, Claudia Carroll, Rachel Wells and Kitty Neale.
