DK has hired Pavilion Books commissioning editor Stephanie Milner to take on the newly-created role of senior acquisitions editor for its Life division.
Milner, who starts on 21st August, will acquire and publish author-led books for the UK market to help build DK's Life list.
For the last three years Milner has worked on the food and drink, health and beauty and interior design lists at indie Pavilion, delivering titles including MOB Kitchen, Asma's Indian Kitchen and Mad About the House. Prior to Pavilion, Milner was commissioning editor at Ryland Peters & Small, where she commissioned and project managed illustrated non-fiction for a global audience.
Milner said: “I’m incredibly proud to be joining the team at DK Life and look forward to attracting an enviable roster of the UK’s top authors and brands to the business. I can’t wait to get started.”
Life publishing director Mary-Clare Jerram added: "We are thrilled that Stephanie is joining the DK Life team as we set out to strengthen our presence in the UK. With her in-depth knowledge of the cookery category and experience in other lifestyle subjects, she will be a tremendous asset."
Pavilion has started recruiting for Milner's replacement.
