S&S teams with app company for postcard book

Simon & Schuster has partnered with London-based app company Ps Print Studio for the upcoming title 60 Postcards.

The title is written by Rachael Chadwick, who came to terms with the sudden death of her mother by travelling to Paris with her friends and leaving postcards everywhere asking strangers to share their stories. When she returned from her trip, postcards came flooding through the door sharing “remarkable personal experiences.”

S&S will publish the book 60 Postcards on 27th February. Readers will be given the chance to send a free postcard anywhere in the world by redeeming a code in the back of the book using the Ps Print Studio app.

Rik Ubhi, online marketing and web manager at S&S, who leads the partnership between the publisher and the app company, said: “60 Postcards is an inspirational true story about the power of sharing the written word, about how exchanging personal stories can help begin the process of moving on from a tragic loss. This project with Ps Print Studio chimes so perfectly with the content of the book, as we’re asking people to share their stories – their thoughts and experiences – with those who mean something to them. We’re asking them to continue the 60 Postcards story, and we think this is a wonderful way of doing it.”

Fionn Concannon, chief executive of  Ps Print Studio added: “The 60 Postcards story demonstrates how physical postcards helped a young woman cope with the sudden loss of her mother. The story touched all our hearts and we wanted to help Rachael spread the word further."
