S&S takes Wright from WHS Travel

<p>Simon&amp;Schuster has appointed Julie Wright of W H Smith Travel to the newly-created role of Pocket Books publisher. Wright is books trading controller at WHS Travel, and was previously non-fiction and fiction buyer at WHS High Street. She will join the company in March, reporting to publishing director Suzanne Baboneau.

The move is part of a larger strategy by S&S to cut its adult output, and shift focus from its Scribner and Free Press imprints to S&S and paperback imprint Pocket. It follows four redundancies across marketing, publicity, editorial and IT.
