Simon & Schuster has signed a global deal with bestselling author of the Hush, Hush series, Becca Fitzpatrick, for a new novel, Black Ice.
In the UK, S&S Children's editorial director Venetia Gosling bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Catherine Clarke at Felicity Bryan, on behalf of Catherine Drayton at Inkwell Management. Black Ice will be published in hardback and e-book in autumn 2014. It will also be published by Simon & Schuster US and Simon & Schuster Australia, to be supported by a global marketing campaign and international author tour.
Black Ice is billed as "a riveting stand-alone psychological thriller that takes place against the treacherous backdrop of the mountains of Wyoming", featuring 17-year-old Britt Pfeiffer.
Simon & Schuster UK publisher Ingrid Selberg said: "The Hush, Hush saga has been an incredible global success, and we're extremely proud to have Becca on our list. On the eve of publication of Finale, it's great to be able to tell her fans that this is not the end for Becca Fitzpatrick. We at S&S are delighted to be part of her future and can't wait to publish Black Ice."
